Outreach & Education

Members of the Center staff are involved in training activities for pediatric and family practice residents at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, health care providers, community health nurses, day care providers, and police. Topics offered include SIDS, safe sleep environment, grief and compassionate intervention.

Center Staff also participates in the training of emergency medical personnel and community programs working with young families and children. The Center presents SIDS/safe sleep environment information to licensed day care providers as part of their core of knowledge training. Participation at health fairs increases awareness of Risk Reduction efforts and services the Center offers.
