3rd Annual Team JEM3 Ride for SIDS Harley Davidson of Maryland in Elkridge June 26, 2010 |

 Congratulations to Dawn and Joe Burger and Christina Zwirko for their work on putting together the 1st Annual Team JEM3 Ride for SIDS on June 8th! The event raised over $5,000 for the Center and hosted close to 100 riders departing from Harley Davidson of Maryland in Elkridge and Battlefield Harley Davidson in Gettysburg, PA. The route included 90 miles of scenic roads with a rest at Carroll Community College. Although the weather marked one of the hottest days this summer, bikes rolled out heading for their final destination, Daniels Restaurant in Elkridge. In spite of the temperatures, everyone seemed to have a great time enjoying the food provided by Daniels, chances at raffles and an assortment of rock classics by Frankie the DJ. Special thanks to Jack & Sharon McClung and their family who assisted in organizing the ride.
The Ride Committee would like to thank the many businesses who supported the event.
The ride was established in memory of Jack McClung III, infant son of Dawn Burger and Jack McClung, who died of SIDS in 1982. The family noted that the Center for Infant & Child Loss provided tremendous support after Jack died and when subsequent children were born years later. It is the family wish to help others who suffer the tragedy of child loss that made the vision of the “Ride for SIDS” a reality! THANK YOU! |
